Meet the Owner
Owner Karen Kaiser has more than twenty years' experience in bookkeeping, accounting and treasury services. After graduating with a BS in Business with a concentration in Accounting from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia, Karen started her career in audit, but soon decided to explore other aspects of the accounting world. After a brief foray into retail, she began working in corporate accounting as a reconciliation specialist. Finding her niche in real estate development, she worked as a property accountant for many years before taking an opportunity to transition to treasury services and cash management when her employer was restructuring after the 2008 recession. This proved to be an excellent opportunity for Karen to use her accounting skills and knowledge along with her interpersonal and problem solving skills, working closely with all departments, vendors and financial institutions to manage and protect the company's cash.
Throughout her career, Karen has had the opportunity to work in a variety of accounting systems including QuickBooks, Great Plains and Yardi, and helped with major software conversions. In her role in treasury services, she became very familiar with online banking platforms and automated AP processing.
In addition to providing accounting services for small businesses, Karen teaches English to adult language learners. This allows her to combine two of her non-accounting passions: foreign languages and teaching.
When Karen isn't working, you will find her hiking, playing with her two dogs, traveling, or studying languages (specifically Japanese these days!)
